About
Swiss Army Knife
Over the years my job has evolved as I've absorbed many responsibilities and developed new skills, mostly self-taught, along the way. Rather than a jack-of-all-trades, I like to consider myself the Swiss Army Knife of my department:
No matter your need, I have a skill set for that!
Lifelong Learner & Educator
Education is part of my DNA.
In my job as a tour guide, I was first the student - learning about the history, culture, geography, geology, architecture, and nature of the areas I was assigned to. Next, I was the teacher as I passed this knowledge along to my tourists as we traveled to sights, cities, and national parks across the United States and Canada.
In my various positions at Thunderbird I have acquired many new skills and trained numerous employees over the years.
When I became a mother to three highly gifted children, a new journey of learning started. Their insatiable need for knowledge and endless questions required me to continuously learn something new. Their specific learning needs led me to be involved in a Gifted Task Force with the school district, and also challenged me as a teacher when I homeschooled our oldest child for 2 1/2 years.

Creative Mindset
Creativity is also part of my DNA.
Whether it is photography, drawing, painting, or working in design technology, I am passionate about design and creating amazing visual content.
As a photographer my subjects have been as diverse as wildlife, landscapes, historic landmarks, pets and children. The banner at the top of this page showcases a small sampling of my work.
In my design work I strive to draw people in by making the content visually attractive. I love working with colors, shapes, illustrations, different fonts, and images that all work together to support the content and drive key points home.
